![]() ![]() Alongside the continued engagement of Diablo 3 (which just released details of its 25th Season PTR update) and upcoming excitement for Diablo Immortal adding another entry point into the Diablo universe, these success are taken as confirmation that their plan for the Diablo franchise is heading in the right direction to engage a huge community appetite for more content from the dark gothic Diablo universe. Ybarra also spoke on the multi-tiered approach to Diablo content intended to offer something for all types of players, with Diablo II: Resurrected igniting nostalgia and setting the highest first week sales record for any remaster done by Activision Blizzard, including the acclaimed Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. In response to a question during the Q&A session at the end of the call, Blizzard leader Mike Ybarra said that the extra time will help increase the size of development teams ahead of launch, to ensure they follow up with substantial content releases - echoing other comments throughout the call which spoke about applying the Call of Duty and Candy Crush models of fast paced seasonal content releases and franchise tie-ins to other games within the Activision Blizzard umbrella, specifically citing the two Blizzard games. ![]() ![]() While this development will push out the financial outlook that we expect to see next year, we firmly believe that this is the right course of action for our people, for the longterm success of the franchises, and for our shareholders. ![]() We're therefore currently not planning to include contributions from Overwatch 2 or Diablo in 2022.
